Nestled in Woodstock High Street The Feathers is the latest creation from The Ede Holdings group, an Oxfordshire based, third generation, family run developers of property and boutique hotels for over 65 years.
The Ede Holdings group purchased The Feathers in 2023 with the objective of restoring this beautiful building to its former glory, bringing back to life historical features and finishing with a specification that compliments and enhances the charm that the building has to offer. Carefully modernised with history at the heart.
EXPERIENCESThe Feathers has a rich and interesting history with various parts of this wonderfully meandering property having previously been a 18th century sanatorium, a butchers and a draper’s shop. The buildings were merged in the 1960’s and converted into a hotel called The Dorchester. This was bought by hotelier Gordon Campbell Gray in the 1980s, who renamed the hotel as The Feathers, in homage to his collection of taxidermy birds.
During renovations it became clear that the restaurant and bar deserved their own identity's thus The Nest and The Aviary were born. The Aviary boasts an idyllic, suntrap courtyard, the perfect spot to stop for a cold drink and a bite to eat on a summer's day after a walk around Blenheim. Or in the winter come in and cosy up by the fireplace and enjoy a coffee and a catch up with friends and family.
